“ short version ”

[x] When he was originally born to Satou and Mikale, “Dimitri” was blessed by a 'local' God of Space. However, Dimitri felt no need to delve into his powers. No one actively worshipped anymore and the idea of traveling to other worlds seemed rather silly.

[x] When he was about eleven, he met his half-brother from another world, Yumeno Yuuto. Yuuto made traveling the omniverse sound fun, so Dimitri decided to try it too. However, Dimitri soon discovered that his powers were one-way and he could not travel home. For Yuuto, most all worlds he visited ended with his parents marrying. But Dimitri’s father rarely got his wife. Dimitri could not even pretend to go home.

[x] Until he was chronologically thirteen, Dimitri wandered the omniverse bitterly and watched his parents’ doomed romance fail over and over. He became depressed, angry, and just plain angsty about the lack of family. Then he wandered into a world where his mother was still young. By some miracle, she believed his story and took him in like the son she could one day have.

[x] At age fifteen, Dimitri learned that he was stuck in this “cycle” of sad worlds because of the God who blessed him. His mother became angry that her son was being kept on an imaginary chain and forced to suffer. With angry mom magic, she severed the link. Dimitri had first thought that meant he was stranded, but Yuuto and Speck found him and taught him otherwise.

[x] As a result of the timespace travel he’d performed before, Dimitri was no longer on the same plane of existence as regular humans. Realizing his mind and body were too warped to feign a normal human life, he abandoned his human identity and transcended with Yuuto and Speck as “Dem

Personality
“ basics ”

At one point, Dimitri was a naive and innocent sort of person. He was a younger brother, spoiled and loved. But because of his naivety, Dimitri has lost his family and ultimately his humanity. This is his first major loss or suffering of any sort, and he’s proving to be completely unequipped with the maturity to deal with it.

For starters, Dimitri has become an exceptionally bitter person. With no one to blame for his suffering but himself, Dimitri has a habit of throwing himself under the bus and not respecting himself. He plays the role of a gentleman and pretends to be a good boy, but he is actively pretending. Dimitri does not think of himself as a very smart or kind person. Otherwise, he reasons, he wouldn’t be in this situation. He has become so used to calling his gentlemanly habits and instances of smarts fake that even if he genuinely showed these qualities, he would not recognize them as real but as very good acting.

This complicated game of pretend leads to Dimitri disassociating himself with his reality. He enjoys high-risk and crazy adventures because he doesn’t have to think hard. Dimitri sees no reason not to take huge risks because he doesn’t think he has anything to lose.

But at his core, under his sarcasm, his acting, his attitude, his hatred… Dimitri is just a very sad and confused kid who wants to go home. So break out your Linkin Park playlist, because you’re going to need it.

[x] Demi can travel space & time by hacking reality’s borders. However, due to his inexperience with this ability he can generally only exit a world once. The chances of him re-visiting a world are less than 1%, so when he leaves he is essentially doing so for good.

[x] With proper study, he can hack a world’s reality and simulate magic. For simplicity’s sake, let’s just say he’s all around magical. Demi must understand the rules of a world before he can break them. He also must be careful not to break reality, but just bend it to his whims. Similarly…

[x] Being a world that is not his for too long makes Demi sickly. His body just cannot take it and begins to break down. When he hops to a new world, his health goes back to neutral. However, this inconvenience makes it hard for him to stay in one place for too long.

[x] Because despite all this fancy omniverse stuff, Demi himself has a mostly mortal body and only one lifetime to live. He is a squishy human. Sure, he can fix up his damaged body like a doll with magic, but holy moly that hurts and he can’t save himself if he’s too overcome with pain to think straight. Though time and age no longer effect him, a good stab wound can end him.
